A beautiful town situated in the middle of wilderness， Killarney has a population of three hundred fifty, located at the north end of Georgian Bay, approximately five hours north of Toronto, one hour north of Parrysound.
Killarney是一个美丽的充满野生的只有350人的小镇。它位于Georgian Bay的北部，离多伦多大约5小时的路程，比Parry Sound还远一个小时。

Born and raised in Killarney, Jennifer East, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. East told me that her father bought a lodge from Fruhoffs a big American trucking company forty four years ago, and named it the Killarney Mountain Lodge. It has grown into Killarney Mountain Resort and become a major attraction in northern Ontario ever since.
出生并在小镇长大的Jennifer East告诉我她父亲Mr.East于44年前从一家很大的美国货运汽车公司买下了几套木制建筑，起名为Killarney Mountain Lodge，并将它发展成旅游度假村，成为安省北部最吸引人的旅游景点之一。

According to Jennifer, people come to the Resort to enjoy its peacefulness and wilderness, to get away from their daily stress and to avoid the crowd and the noise of city life.
Jennifer说，人们来到这里是为了享受小镇的野生及它的安宁的气氛，是为了逃离日常生活的紧张压力，避免城市的喧嚣和拥挤。

Cell Phones and Emails are not activated in Killarney Mountain Resort and there is only one TV in the dining lounge and no TV in the rooms. Jennifer said that the Resort is built in a way that brings people back to their childhood. Adding to the wilderness nature of Killarney, this is another reason that attracts people there.
度假村里无法使用手机和电邮。只有饭厅内安装了一台电视，而游客的房间内都不安装电视。Jennifer说，这种设施装备就是为了把来度假的游客带回他们的童年时代。除了Killarney特有的野生特性之外，这一点也是吸引游客的重要原因之一。

Rooms in the Resort are very special. There are pine lodge rooms, standard lodge rooms, cabins, chalet, and the Pilot House. All the rooms are built with wood, and decorated in a traditional style. Attached to the bedroom of the chalet, there is a sunroom stretched to the woods. There is no glass in the sunroom, and the full screen windows on the 3 sides are the only things that separate you from the wilderness. From there, you can view the breathtaking beauty of the lake and the mountains. The cabins are scattered along the main trail and every unit is situated in the wildness of the woods.
度假村的房间也是非常特殊的，分成几类：松木间，标准间，独立木屋，休假木屋，以及高档木屋。所有房间都是老式的木制建筑。休假木屋的睡 房与一间太阳房相连。太阳房是没有玻璃的，三面全部由落地砂窗与外界野生植物相隔。置身太阳房内，外面的湖光山色一览无余。独立木屋分散于小径两旁，间间 都造置于密密的野生植物之中。

The rooms haven't changed a lot from what the Fruhoffs built forty-four years ago. There is no modern technology involved in the facilities in the rooms. The locks and the taps are still the style of forty years ago. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, and the breeze through the opposite screen windows brings you the smell of the wildness.
这些房间与44年前没有太大分别。所有房间内都未安装现代化的设施。房间的门锁和卫生间的洗手池都依然保持着40年前的风格。房间内也未安装空调，而通过纱窗对流的空气却带给你凉爽的小风及野生植物的清香。

Many of the Resort's programs attract tourists too. I started my 2-days stay at the Resort by Kayaking in the lake in the early morning. Kayak is a small boat that two or one people can sit in. It could be made of plastic or fiberglass. The Resort Guide taught me how to paddle and steer the boat to move, turn and stop. We kayaked in the peaceful cove of the lake for 1.5 hours and at the end, it made me almost a Kayaking veteran.
度假村所提供的度假项目也是吸引旅游者的原因之一。我从清晨就开始了2天的度假日程。第一个项目为划小艇。小艇为一个1，2个人乘坐的小 船，通常由塑料或玻璃钢制成。度假村的导游教我划小艇的方法，使其前进，转弯及停止。我们在宁静的港湾划了1个半小时，即将结束时，我基本上已经成为了一 名熟手。

Jennifer explained to me that a tourist could choose to go by him/herself or with Killarneys certified guides. Killarney Outfitters is where you can buy or rent kayaks and canoes, and find an outfit that fits you.
Jennifer向我解释说，游客可以选择导游陪同或由自己进行。Killarney的游客服务站可向游客提供出租或购买游艇的服务。同时，游客还可以在此购买旅游服装等。

Next day, I started by canoeing in the Killarney Provincial Park. It is another interesting experience on water. Canoe is a boat for a maximum of three people and you steer and move with a paddle as well. Paddling in the natural lake surrounded by dark green plants and red rocks that are billions of years old, I left everything that bothered me behind. The beautiful mountains with lots of wilderness made me feel that I was in another world.

Hiking at the Killarney Provincial Park is next on my schedule. Of the many trails, I hiked the AY Jackson Lake from George Lake, where I canoed.
在Killarney省立公园爬山是我日程的下一个项目。爬山的路径有很多。我选择了从我划木舟的George Lake上山的路径。

A famous artist of the Group of Seven, Mr. AY Jackson used to travel to the park, and painted the lake, which today is called AY Jackson Lake. He has ever since become famous, and a secondary school was named after him, called AY Jackson Secondary School.
A.Y.Jackson先生是加拿大著名的7人艺术小组中的一员。Jackson先生曾经到此公园，将公园的山湖绘于纸上，而湖也因此成名，叫做今天的AY Jackson 湖。另有一所中学也命名为AY Jackson中学。

I followed Mr. Jackson's footsteps and painted AY Jackson Lake in the afternoon.
我也来到Jackson先生绘画的地方，画了AY Jackson湖。

I painted the mountains and the lakes that Mr. Jackson did. Artistically, the painting could never enjoy the same level of recognition as Mr. Jackson's, yet I experienced the same wildness, beauty, and the quietness that once held his breath.
我画了Jackson先生曾经画过的山和湖。从艺术角度来讲，我的绘画水准与Jackson先生的无法相比，但我同样体验到了曾经深深吸引了Jackson先生的那份美丽宁静的自然。

Painting by sitting on the rock is a wonderful experience. Paintbrushes and watercolors bring out the memories of childhood. I was completely taken away by the nature, and the lake separated me from the real world.
坐在岩石上画画实在是一份太奇妙的体验。画笔和水彩将我带回到童年时代。我被大自然迷住了，湖水将使我与外世彻底隔绝。

Back to George Lake, I took a plunge in the water. I was drifting along with the water, couldn't tell where exactly I was. I became part of the cloud, the rocks, the forest and the lake.
回到George Lake, 我跳到湖水中畅游。我随波逐流，仿佛与山，云，岩石，森林和湖水混为一体，完全忘却了自我的存在。

Nighttime cruise with captain Rick and his wife on the forty-six foot yacht, Stormy Night, is a completely different experience and thrilling.
晚上的日程是与Stormy Night的船长Rick及他太太一起乘帆远游。而这一经历则另有一番风味，并且非常刺激。

The beautiful sunset brought out waves that are about several feet high. On the Stormy Night, I was thrilled by the nature of the Lake. The afternoon's quiet and friendly lake suddenly became vicious and terrifying. I was watching Stormy Night bravely dancing in the waves, conquering the water evil for her passengers. I was moved by her courage and valiance.
美丽的落日在湖上掀起了几尺高的浪。坐在Stormy Night上，凶猛的湖水让我兴奋。下午的那条温顺而友善的湖忽然之间变得凶猛险恶。Stormy Night勇敢地在浪尖上起舞，为其乘客征服着罪恶的湖水。我被她的勇敢所感动。

I finished my trip to Killarney Mountain Lodge feeling refreshed. Sitting back in a city office and clicking on the mouse, I watched Email pouring in from different parts of the world, I realized that electronic wires of the current technology connect me to the globe, only Killarney separates me and links me back to the history.
从Killarney度假村回来，我感到轻松，振作。坐在城市的办公室中，手中轻按着老鼠标，Email不断地从世界各地涌来。我意识到现代的电子技术将我与全球相连，而Killarney使我与世相隔并把我带回过去。
