Good Luck! |

Program(Specialist or Major or Minor),还是先选课 ? Program(Specialist or Major or Minor),是不是不能选课 ?

GOOD LUCK! |
I am sorry for not being able to enter Chinese here.
I have 5 credits transfered, but UoT may have forgotten to transfer a course for me :"MAT 237Y1". I wrote an email to Transfer Credit Section to appeal for this, but I have received no response from the section. Is there any possibility to have them re-consider to transfer this course for me ? I have not found a room to live in, if someone has any information about it, please let me know. Anyway, please give me a hand ! Thanks. |

Even if they can not transfer it for me, I want them to let me waive it. Can I waive this couse ? BTW, does anybody know something about writing requirement ?Which course can I choose to meet the writing requirement ? Thanks. |

If u learnt pure mathematics or theoretical physics at university no worse than tsinghua in china, maybe there is <10% chance you can waive it. :) BTW: for such a super easy course, why not add a >90 mark to decorate your transcript? |

You mean if the mark of this course(MAT237Y1) is less than 90%, then I have no hope to waive it ? Thanks. |

And what's your transfer credit for first year calculus? If it's mat 135, I suggest you take care of that first? BTW: this webpage may help http://www.cs.toronto.edu/DCS/Undergrad/advice/ ( But it's down now. ) Please don't always  :D One of the toughest periods in you lifetime is about to start. Have fun, buddy. |
You should spend more time on the department web, not simply asking here. Your question about writing requirement showed that you have not even looked at the program description. That makes us feel not that good.
2. Writing requirement: Students in any Specialist program sponsored by the Department of Computer Science (including Combined Specialist programs) must complete one credit requiring substantial written work in English. The courses accepted for this purpose are listed below. Courses not on this list do not satisfy the requirement without departmental approval. Students in the Major program in Computer Science must take one-half credit from the same list. Departments offering these courses have agreed to accept our students, but will not give you special preference in admission. You must satisfy the prerequisite and other requirements listed in this Calendar. Make sure to check that the course you want to take is offered in the year you want it, and to follow the enrolment requirements stated in the Arts and Science Registration Handbook and Timetable. A Transfer credit, whether it is for a specific course on the list below (eg "RLG100Y1") or is a generic credit (eg "RLG 1**Y1"), must be approved by the department in order to count towards the writing requirement. Please contact the department for approval. In order to accept such a course, we must assess the role of written work in the course, and determine that it was taught in English, at an English-speaking university.
