【求助】instalment Self-employment
 

Hi,

I was self-employment last year and paid GST. I'm not self-employment this year, I just called ccra to canceled my business No. and GST accout, they said that I can only cancel it after registring for 12 months. Although I'm not self-employment, I still need to pay instalment every 3 months. They're going to send me a document and indicate how much I should pay.

Can anybody explain this to me? Will they refund me the instalment?

Hi, there,

For your situation, no need to worry about it. Still try to send the paper work to close your business. and file your GST return after you close your business. You do not need to pay that instalment. Think about it in another way, you did not collect any GST, why you need to remitte the GST?
