OHIP Coverage is Changing
June 6, 2004
The Ontario Government has announced new OHIP coverage for Eye Examinations. On November 1, 2004, OHIP will no longer cover regular eye examinations for Adults aged 20 to 64 years. Additionally, a referral from your family physician will be required for OHIP eligible insured medical services (e.g., red eye, diabetes, glaucoma, etc.).

OHIP will continue to cover:

Children aged 0 to 19 years - One full eye examination annually.
Seniors aged 65 and above - One full eye examination annually.

OHIP不管牙齿的，眼睛是每两年可以免费检查一次。不需要住够两年。这一项从11月1日起将取消了（对大人）。但是眼睛要是有问题，家庭医生可以refer你去看眼科。现在赶紧约，运气好也许可以约到10月31日以前的。
