正常情况camry要求多少里程更换timing belt？到30万之前会不会断啊？

I think the 1996 has changed timing belt once at least. but I can't find any stick on the cover of the time belt.
according toyota, the time belt shoud change timing belt every 100,000km. some people take risk to 150,000. it depends.
I don't want to change the timing belt for the 1996. there are couple of reasons,
1 when I changed timing belt for 1989, the mechanic has done a terrible job for may car. he used a torch to take the main pully out. after couple of monthes, the pully falled to two parts out of my car. fortunately, when it is happening, the car just start in a parking lot.
so, I think the car is destroyed by mechanic sometimes. we shoud go to see mechanic as less as possible.
2 the timing belt I have changed out of may 1989 camry. It has taken 150,000km & 11years. and everything looks ok.
3 what I heard someone told me that if the timing belt fall, the worst result is the will lost power, need to be towed to garage to change the timing belt. (not 100% sure about this point, somebody says the whole engine will be destroyed)
