Crown Victoria的梁之所以是那样是因为它是非承载式车身,body on frame的,那个车头梁是ladder frame的一部分而已。我现在开Grand Marquis和它是姊妹车,也是这种frame construction,那个梁上面还可以接push bumper。

其实这种frame结构的车虽然结实,但塌缩区的设计不如unibody的车,小碰撞不会受损,但大碰撞乘员死亡率是高于unibody结构的。
