默认 补充一下:DISMISSAL也是可以拿到SEVERANCEPAY的。只要不是因为你的过错。

不管是LAY OFF 还是DISMISSAL(FIRE)都有资格申请失业金。区别在于LAY OFF 雇主要付SEVERANCE PAY。多少是根据工龄长短,至少2周工资。到一定年限的每增加一年工龄多1周。雇主要至少提前2周书面通知。详情请查EMPLOYMENT ACT。

DISMISSAL也要书面通知,但是可以是立即生效。没有SEVERANCE PAY。

在任何一种情况下,雇主都要出据RECORD OF EMPLOYMENT (ROE)。凭这个去申请失业金。如果他在过去的12个月中做满900小时,至少可以领到55%的工资。
