For CPP,If you are an employee, you pay 4.95% of your salary( deduct $3500) and your employer paid 4.95%, If you are selfemploy, you may need to pay all 9.9% unless your employer is willing to pay his half ( many angencies will pay their share). For EI, if you are selfemploy, you can not pay EI and will not get EI if you got laidoff unless you are a technical worker, say, CAD designer, etc. Check with HRDC.
