我的意思是退休后的那2，3十年当中，就以他们例子来说，这2.8mil他们就会兑换成cash了么？不会再用这钱投资了么？如果再投资的话，是不是也应该把回报算在overall里面

Well, when you retire. You won't investment anything agressive. Probably you investment something that having 2% ROI for most of your money. That only could cover the inflation. For financial security planning, they will count everything at mimimum.

For sure , you could count bigger return on the 2.8, you may win lottery.

Sweetie, you relax. So young to think about that. And I think you will be doing more than fine.

我是说有2.8m的那位. 我假设每年3%的回报, 边缘税率30%, 2.8米一年也得58,800. 基本上是兔子说的基本开销了. 这样的话,可不是2.8m都留给后代.

这个就看个人情况了,如果30左右要的第一个孩子, 50-60的时候正是娃要上大学的时候. 要得把娃的学费也在50之前存出来,就鸭梨更大了.

You can choose not pay for that. My parents in law didn't . My parents can not afford my tutition. Not every paretns are entitled to pay for that. And you will have RESP anyway for them.

that's my father in law always say so. LOL. He thinks Chinese parents are too generous. I told my hubby that he is too wasteful and selflish.
And in other way , he was dreaming about my mother' in law 's Mom 's money. She left serveral million for her kids. unfortunately ,right now there is law suit on those money. :P

真是不能算账的，我刚才略估计了一下, if you have two kids, you'll need 7500/month - excluding mortgage. That's just to get by. Rrep & rrsp & travel & emergency fund included

Last thread, you said that it only need 6000k living expense all in together, so 170k/ year family income is easily to afford 500k mortgage. Now you raised the living expense to 7500/month, I guess that 500k mortgage sound a little risky now. :P

也是，一般来说super rich的不可能只生一个的，继承人越多越好，后遗症就素可能摆不平，看看澳门赌王就知道了。
