Q & A Q:经常看到你们二位的帖子,感觉你们是从内心里想帮助别人,另外,你们提供的信息非常有用,谈问题非常到位,实在,所以请二位帮我们参目参目,谢谢。 我们是99年递交申请,01年8月短期登陆,05年枫叶卡到期。周围几个朋友辞职移民后,发展都不是很顺利,有的已经回到北京打工。看到这些,心情很郁闷。我们夫妻已经40岁,我学英语,曾在美国做过一年访问学者,现在国内从事涉外工作,英文交际没问题,当然不能与你们二位相比。丈夫学计算机,英文尚可,不上交际,大学教师。孩子13岁。 就我们而言,已近基本决定不移民。但是,仍不死心,请你们理解。所以请二位帮忙参目参目,是否我们就应该放弃移民?另外,如果真的硬过去了,能干些什么工作? 十分感谢 A---我的建议是,让你丈夫过来在 Call center 干干,边在 call center 提高英语、边往公司内部其它部门渗透、边惦记蒙克顿及周边地区的工作机会。call centre内部常常会有计算机/VOIP/CISCO技术支持、网管、人事、排班等岗位招人,对有计算机和通讯技术背景的移民,是不错的机会。此外, 蒙克顿周边的 Fredericton, Charlottetown, Halifax,St. John等专业工作竞争相对较小。 如果他找到专业工作,足够支持一家生活开销,你和孩子再搬过来。如果他找不到专业工作,他就撤回国内安居乐业。 几个问题需要注意,一,他是否有加拿大驾照,如果从头开始,在这拿照最快需要 4 个月。二.夫妻两地分居后院是否会起火? |

Some thoughts for reference: Moncton could be a better destination for some new immigrants, but definitley not for MANY since it does not have enough opportunities for them. For me it is too far away. I really do not know how long it will take if I want to fly back to China on vacation. It is a too exhausted trip even from Toronto to Beijin. Call center is definitely not a good profession for most immigrants. It is just a low-pay job for suviving and practising English. As far as I know, people working in call center include local people without good education, high school or college students seeking extra money for fun, and new immigrants especially from India-Bakistin with virous background. Many people quit job after serveral months. Inbound tech support call will be easier and less pressure compared with outbound call. |
