Yes. It is. We have to ask the canada friends/reletives to help us if we want to inquire CAIPs.
It cost $30 and will take 30 days to get reply

CAIPS just cost $5. ( I got mine already!) The reason you should paid higher then $5 is because you are using some agent (of course they earn money from you! you could imagine how much they earned from you between this easy service!!!). The CAIPS are same on these situation becasue they are from Canda govenrment, there is no long CAPIS or short CAIPS. THe agaent want earned more money from you, so they give different price for different "service". BUt you should keep in mind, the CAIPS is from government, not from their computer. They are just present you to get it.

CAIPS 能提供什么有用的信息呢? 它也不会加快你的申请速度吧. 知道和不知道有什么区别吗? 感觉就是死等,其他什么也做不了. 不知道我说的对不对.....

CAIPS won't effect your appliation's speed, BUT as is said that we used money (not big money) to buy a feeling.

Just feel you kind of know what happened on your case. Like me, i know I am not in the background check, so a big relieve.

主要有两点

1 如果你在在加拿大，自己也可以去要，不需要麻烦别人，这一点可以在那个 info source 表格上看到

2 根据加拿大法律 Privacy Act 规定，如果是要求自己的信息，是免费的。

如果你或者你委托的朋友（加拿大公民或移民）需要通过 information access act 查询你的资料，是要交钱的。但是因为你在查询自己的信息，声明是 privacy act，查自己的信息当然不需要额外交钱了。

另外，即使是在 info source 的表格上，也已经说的很清楚，查询人可以是 a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or another individual present in Canada

道理就这么简单。

下面是 CIC 的一步部门 manager 给我的回信。

恭喜你,那么快就要结束移民的等待了!有几个问题想请教:请问你在加拿大还是在美国?你第二封信来时要求你做finger print了吗?你的签证官是谁呀?

呵呵,是呀!等得着急呀.一天看几次呢.看看这里的同胞们都有没有什么新消息了.现在这个指纹的事情搞得我很烦.也不知道他们到底以后是需要还是不需要.到底还要等多久?看到这里前面这位同胞也是去年10月申请的,并且那么快就有了好消息.所以忍不住请教一些问题.你呢?最近好吗?你那边的移友有没有什么新消息?多联络!!

我也是10月份申请的,但是手印,体检结果都到巴伐罗都快3个月了,一点消息也没有啊.

问问，想了解了解需要多少时间才能大概处理到我的。我的 file number 是 5月20日 created。

我的FN是5月12日creat的，看样子我们两个的进度应该差不多。我同学是2月拿到FN的，前两天收到第二封信，这样推算，我们要到年底或明年年初了。
