预付信用卡，可以购买超过信用额度的物品吗？

请教各位达人，比如我的信用卡只有 $2000 的额度，但是现在需要用信用卡支付 $3000 的货物，那么我事先从银行先支付 $1000 到信用卡后，那么可以刷卡 $3000 吗？

或者即使我预先支付 $1000，但是信用卡还是只能刷 $2000？

多谢各位指教，不知道大家有没有碰到这样的问题。不要提 cheque, money order, split, debit card 等...都不适合...

you have to pay extra money for over limite. call customer repetitive hotline for more detail.

Call you CC company to ask them to increase your credit limit, either for this case or forever. My experience is that they are more than happy to increase your limit, sure it is depend on your credit history.

if the CC company won't increase your credit,
just deposit money into your credit card account,
then you can buy the stuff. as you mentioned,
if your credit limit is 2000, and you deposit 1000,
then your total limit is 3000 now. you can check
your credit card online to see your current available
credit.

just remember one thing, if you transfer the fund from
the bank account is different from your CC company/bank,
e.g. you use CIBC's credit card but use TD's bank account
to transfer fund.
make sure the fund has been transfer to your CC account
before buying anything over your credit limit. Generally it
would take 2 biz days.

into your account.

Yes you can. But there's no interest for depositing money in the credit card. Splitting with cash, debt card is better.

what's your point?
money in cheque account has no interest either. (most case)
use your credit card could build up your credit.
use debit card or cash could build nothing.

以前打工时，普通visa信用卡，年收入1万，他们要给我8000额度，我只要2000。
现在用金卡，额度最起码7500，不允许再低了。

每个银行的卡都有普通卡，金卡，白金卡之分。金卡的颜色也确实就是金色的。
金卡通常要年收入 $35000 以上，并且有良好的信用记录才能申请到，一般而言金卡的额度是最低 $5000，高了不知道多少，我朋友的卡额度 $50000。
据说还有种黑卡，额度上不封顶，你拿卡买艘游艇，买个房子都没问题。
