In my understanding, the Chinese module resides in the memory when you install it with the .cab file. So after you turn off the PDA, everything in the memory is lost. You have to re-install it if needed. Maybe you can add some script to the startup script file so that it will be installed automatically when the PDA is turned on. |

If I keep GPS on, or let it sleep, or suspend it, no problem. The internal memory space will not change. The Sunglobe.ttf font file keeps there. But if I turn off GPS, or hard reset, the internal memory restore to original state. The font file gone. I have to recopy and it works again. Any idea how to keep the setting and file? Thanks, |

This requires a good understanding of your unlock and some script programming. Usually the unlock allocates minimum space (memory) for storage to keep maximum space for applications. So you need to re-set the storage memory (in the case of MioPocket, it is in the file "MioAutoRun\Scripts\Unlock.mscr"). Save the font file "sunglobe.ttf" to "SD Card\MioAutoRun\Windows\Windows" folder. It will be copied to "my device\windows" folder upon reboot. Save the file "sunglobePatch.cab" to "SD Card\MioAutoRun\Windows\StartUp" folder. It will be executed upon reboot. In my Mio C520, I got error message of OS version mismatch, but I can still install it. 此帖于 Apr 18th, 2009 23:59 被 allan 编辑。 |

Open Unlock.mscr with Notepad, find the paragraph containing "SetSystemMemoryDivisionKB". It should be around Line 32 and look like: If(FreeDiskSpace("\", KB) < roomNeeded) RunWait(ProgramsFolder\"TroNik\SetSystemMemoryDivisionKB.exe", TotalDiskSpace("\", KB) + roomNeeded - FreeDiskSpace("\", KB)) EndIf This code dynamically allocates the storage space, though I don't quite understand how. You can check your current storage space using the resource tool, and add 4MB for the font file. Comment out the above code and add one line code, as follows: #If(FreeDiskSpace("\", KB) < roomNeeded) # RunWait(ProgramsFolder\"TroNik\SetSystemMemoryDivisionKB.exe", TotalDiskSpace("\", KB) + roomNeeded - FreeDiskSpace("\", KB)) #EndIf RunWait(ProgramsFolder\"TroNik\SetSystemMemoryDivisionKB.exe", 5120) Here I set the storage space to a static 5MB (5120KB). Of course, setting the storage space to a static number could cause some potential issues. |

I am a complete novice on WinCe and MioPocket. I tried to edit "unlock.mscr" setting static memory to 5120 or increasing "roomneeded". I also tried to run "unlock.mscr". It displayed some message like in the file of "unlock" and re-started automatically but nothing changed afterward. Thanks a lot, |

OK, keep a copy of your original unlock.mscr as a backup, delete the following 3 lines: If(FreeDiskSpace("\", KB) < roomNeeded) RunWait(ProgramsFolder\"TroNik\SetSystemMemoryDivisionKB.exe", TotalDiskSpace("\", KB) + roomNeeded - FreeDiskSpace("\", KB)) EndIf In its place, add the following line: RunWait(ProgramsFolder\"TroNik\SetSystemMemoryDivisionKB.exe", 5120) |

Maybe it is a problem of my device. MioPocket is not full compatible with it. I also tried to reinstall MioPocket. It is same result. I found a new version of Mdict 3.0. It can display Chinese. It has a UniSun font inside. I removed the Mdict 2.5 version and kingsoft dictionary. The Route66 can display Chinese maps also, I don't need to install SunGlobe font anymore. Thanks for all the info and these great thread. Thank you very much, Allan. |
