Our Calgary client, an award winning technology organization, is looking for a Manager to join their Calgary office. This role will report to the Director of Supply Chain Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall leadership of worldwide commodity management activities and will manage a team of procurement and sourcing professionals, as well as third-party manufacturing and software development.


Responsibilities:

Negotiating international contracts and building strategic partnerships;
Monitoring exposure to flexibility and liability terms;
Creating and implementing a three-year supply strategy for achieving cost-reduction targets;
Planning and implementing the procurement of components and services to support customer deliveries, future product development and inventory reduction programs;
Managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts;
Integrating supplier capabilities into key business activities;
Providing strategic input and direction to the executive management team on supply market trends and commodity specifics;
Analyzing process and business data to formulate clear strategies that drive improvement.

Qualifications:

Degree or diploma in engineering, business or a related field;
SPM (PMAC) designation is preferred;
Minimum 8 year’s experience in a supply chain, procurement or a commodity management role;
Extensive knowledge of supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing initiatives;
Proven record of leveraging large suppliers to meet quality, price and delivery requirements;
Thorough knowledge of industry practices and standards, techniques for process improvement and best practices for materials management;
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-moving environment;
Demonstrated ability to multitask, think creatively, identify issues and present solutions;
Strong experience in negotiating long-term international supplier contracts;
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time (in both North America and internationally).
