many people have same interests
hehe... I got a degree from U of W. My previous experience focuses chemical emgineering design and mangement, especially in petrochemical industry. There is a big difference between them. After all, the chemical engineering is the fundamantals of Environmental Engineering. Plus my poor marks in my university. that is only offer I can got so I chose the Env. Eng. At the beginning, I haveno idea in the job market. Even affter graduation, I just keep trying to send resumes to all companies I know. after 6 months, I got this job, in a consulting firm. What I want to say is the confidence is first important. The second is luck. Next is your experience and skills. of course u have to know what you can do. If you choose ur career u have to do ur best to pursue it. Brief for my company In my current firm, all the people at the level of my position except me are college graduates and also local people. I am not P.E now but I am sure I will be one year later. The people without degree need to upgrade their education and obtain this designation. I have no idea in job searching for greenhand. But you have time cause you r young. U can study from the beginning. Otherwise,..... |

water vs. air
The job market for water/wastewater , especially groundwater, engineering is much bigger than that for air quality. If you got a degree here and have some experience and citizenship, USA is a good choice. In my school, most researches are relevant to water. Only a couple of professors conducted researches in air. As far as I am known, almost all graduates found a professional job. I mean Chinese. So keep working and good luck |
