CB&I Lummus has job opportunities for Senior Piping Material Control Engineer, based at its headquarters in The Hague, The Netherlands. Main Responsibilities and Duties: - Must be capable to perform all piping material takeoff activities, such as: • Piping bulk takeoff with limited information and report accuracy. • Assess design allowances based on historical design developments. • Indicated construction allowances or contingencies together with the Project (Engineering) Manager/Piping Manager. - Must be capable to handle all input, checking and reporting with material management computer system. (Marian and M.T.O. Explorer). - Must have full knowledge of all piping components, commodity coding systems and materials of construction. - Must have a record, which shows successful execution of piping material takeoff/control on previous projects. - Must be capable to produce a project closeout report. - Must be capable of supervising M.T.O. employees working for him/her, and to give them the necessary guidance and instructions, promoting an efficient and qualified material takeoff. - Must be capable of executing small and medium sized projects (or partly completed large projects) within the established man-hour budget and schedule in close cooperation with the piping design lead engineer and/or Material Quantity Control Engineer 2. - Must be able to execute peer reviews when requested by the department head. - Must participate in Project meetings, Business Team meetings etc. - Is responsible for correct reporting of M.T.O. status, progress, delays, change notices from process, performance measurement etc. - Is responsible that M.T.O. employees (incl. free-lance) working on the project adhere to the same information, procedures, standards, job instructions, specifications, etc. - Must be able to work Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) focused. - Is responsible (as a Lead Engineer) for planning sufficient manpower throughout the project execution, including occasional reinforcement or replacements when required (e.g. due to holidays, illnesses or heavy workload). - Must be prepared to make appraisals for team members under his/her supervision, incl. free-lancers when requested. - Is responsible to become fully knowledgeable of the correct work processes and tools and provide input to improve these. - When required, must take on assignments which fall under the aforementioned tasks, or as a resident engineer in support of multi-office project execution. - Shows flexibility and ensures proper hand-over with regards to: • The reassignment to other projects. • The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays. • The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workload (also other projects) when possible/desirable. Required Education and Experience: - You have at least 15 years experience with minimum 5 years in a lead position. - You have at least 3 to 5 years experience working on projects in the U.S. and/or Europe. You should be very comfortable leading a team of international engineers. - You should have proven communication skills, both in terms of interacting with clients as well as leading/coaching your team. Your English is fluent. - You have obtained at least a Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline. For Dutch candidates: MTS/HTS (WTB). - You can provide a letter of reference testifying to your performance from a past or current employer.
