请问这里的老师真有这样大的权力，小孩因不听话就可以让停学一天？！！！

This is true. I just asked my D, she told me that a kid we personally know was kept out of school for one day because he did not behave well. But my D does not know what he did.
Talk to the kid and the principle. Try to know what happened and make sure that the principle give you a good reason. If you don't agree with them, make appointment with the trustee who is in charge of this school.

When you talk to them, keep calm. Try to control your temper. Don't worry too much about English. You may request a interpreter. I ever heard from school secretary that a parent had an interpretor when he/she interviewed with teacher (after the report card was sent home)

If you are in toronto, please read this document carefully. THere are rules about behaviour and punishment. (I did not read. Just found FYI)
If you are not in TOronto, try to find the similar regulation in your city.

You have to know the base of your argument. Or you will be easily turned down by citing any regulation that you don't know.

Be rational all the time when you argue. It is important. Being angry does not help you win.

Are you useing a wrong word of "principle".It is Principal.
And you also make a mistake. Principal just mean the head master of university or high school.
headmaster is used for the elementary school, and DIRECTOR is for kider garden.
So, here, i think Director is better than principal which you used.

Thanks for pointing out my typo. It is principal. Every elementary school has a principal.

Good job! Did the principal explain why the kid was kept out of school? Now the teacher admitted that she ever said the "Banana" thing. This is good for you. Keep us informed.

看了楼主的事,不禁也想说一说,这里的教师真没国内教师好.

我儿子上低班幼儿园,有一次我想向他老师了解他在校情况,她跟我说:"**很不好,不听话,上课走来走去......."我儿是比较调皮,但她的语气让我听起来是很不耐烦.我儿同时上daycare,老师也反映过同样问题,但语气截然不同,daycare老师还是老外,nice多了.幼儿园老师是唐人.跟我全是说英语. 郁闷啊!

同时因为学校发的通知说开家长会但一张说是高班开,一张是低班开,我想了解到底是怎么回事,她并没正面回答我,只是再三说:"你没看纸吗?"跟她说话我觉得很难受,没有感到一丝一毫的阳光温暖,如同冷风刺骨.......

真怕她会阴着整小孩,这对小孩是一生的影响! 担心啊!

你说唐人是中国人的意思吗?
