I believe people got misunderstanding and always forget luck is part of wisdom，or part of one's strength;
buying a right stock requires a lot of luck to know sufficient info to support the decision, it's not our own company, we are not even insider.
Buffet is a very lucky man, we are just not smart enough to be lucky.

maybe it's just most of us are just missing such wisdom, then fool ourselves luck is just luck not under our control.

Most people may rather say luck isn't part of wisdom.
We may have certain level control of our wisdom, but have no control of luck...in the case an insider gets right information to buy a stock, there is nothing to do with luck or intelligence. But an outsider will have different story. Every move rely on your own knowledge, skills, information collection, analysis and sensitive thoughts.

Same as all games having its cracking point, 649 must have a sure-win resolution; it's just me not smart enough to figure it out yet.

Probably our definitions are different.
you have defined luck as uncontrollable.
while I believe all characteristics have a way to control;
God only favors those who are prepared.
To distinguish from wisdom, maybe luck's definition shall be: something we can't literally explain yet, but it's surely a thing not being granted randomly, we have to pay a price to own it. With days go by, the more luck we gain till we are able to summarize what these lucks are, at the moment it turns to wisdom.

Maybe I am wrong, my conclusion comes from the fact I've never seen a single lucky dunce ever.

Luck is same as wisdom, it's accumulated via experince.

Let's take analyzing a stock as an example.

Without running the company ourselves, an outsider won't be able to figure out it's a good company just by so called skills;
these skills have to be applied on insider info,
that means we have to build channels to obtain insider info.
Smart people will research selective info based on their own skillset to make efficient decision as before. this practise ensures/resures accuracy of known knowledge, it only strenthens wisdom;
I have another practise to build luck, other than regular financial analysis, I would forget about the known skills, just gather whatever info, regardless it's currently useful or not, the more the better; who knows when it would turn useful.
although it won't garuntee making us rich immediately, but it does bring us closer to be the lucky one.

You confuse yourself in many ways...who knows God's thoughts? You are the chosen one not because God think you are prepared, it is because of your own efforts to make you become the best or the most suitable one.

There are many financial scandals were discovered by outsiders. I remember one case is an outsider analyst questioned a public company posted revenue because he believed when the price of a raw material to produce the commodity increased so much the company should not still make such profit. He published his concern and it turns out he was right when people digged it further. Of course insiders have advantage, but that doesn't mean outsiders can be fully fooled. FTX is another example, a small doubt could lead to a big collapse.

Are you talking about the cases like how Muddy Waters' made money from shorting a company then publishing so called bad insider truth？
That is a different story. They targeted a company with proper concept and scale, then just do it.
they didn't buy the stock, they shorted it. It has nothing to do with the actual truth of the company, as long as they made the story appearing true, they won.
And same, finding such company at a right timing relies on both luck and skills.

No, not just technically buy, I am talking about if outsiders get any chance to reach the true status or information of a public company. That is what you are talking about, right? Essentially you are buying and selling based on what information you get and you conceive. You said you take notes all the time...

yes, increase the possibility to " get any chance", that's how we can build the luck.

it's just building up luck, can't be value-consolidated, then can't be claimed as "work".
