不是,是说你起码要有工作许可,意思就是公司不会担保/帮你办工作签证.
这种情况下,你有旅游或学生签证也不行.

新移民拿着旅游签证,可以去美国找工作,找到了拿着美国雇主的offer,再办工作签证。或是以公民身份去美国，更自由。

不要老呆在加拿大这个地方不走，天涯何处无芳草。

You can take B1/B2 visa to usa for interview or take a tour.The USA customer will ask the fax of company if for interview.

You cannot get the work visa just by the offer letter from usa company.

Once usa employer agree to give the offer,he must be able to help you to get the work permit from gov. You should give your information to the lawyer of company, such as: passport copy,landing paper copy, diploma and degree copy etc. USA gov will check your qualification and do necessary security check.It need at least 1.5 months to get the final approvement.

gov. After you get the documents,then you can apply h1 visa from usa consulate.You can get the H1 visa at the next business day.

If you are living in Toronto, you should make a appointment for interview at least 1 months early.

Bad news is, US cut this year's H1B quota so heavily that it will finish in a month or two. Until Aug. or Oct. there's simply nothing available.

Canadian can get TN visa under NAFTA. There is no H1B quota limitation. See the site for detail:

New immigrants always dream unpractically. work in USA only can be realized after you become Canada citizen in current situation. Maybe few case successful, but very rare.
