I just got my R600, and still charging it. Anyway I don't have a BT cellphone so I have no way to test it.

No worries, i just played it out...need to turn it on from Device Setting which is linked back to the system setting of stock main menu.

Now only need to find a hands free program to run in miopocket.

Yes, you should not shut it down. only use standby or display off. The power off switch is like a reset button

I haven't installed MioPocket.
As far as i know, if you hard-reset your GPS, MioPocket will need to re-install.
Regarding the Time, you have to run a GPS navigation system (iGO, etc. or the included PocketGPS) to acquire satellite before the time can be synchronized correctly.
Read the readme file with MioPocket please.

你们的机器都是2007年生产的吗？

大家都升级firmware了吗？有没有人胆敢刷中国地区的Firmware?我猜会不会就变成能支持中文显示和输入了呢？

我猜只是Destinator License分地区的问题。既然我们都不用原配的Destinator，按理应该不会成问题吧？

怎么我的机器刚启动就占用了20MB的Program Memory,只剩不到25MB可用了呢？
我原来以为是MioPocket占内存。可是现在我用原来玩Omni-tech的内容，不用MioPocket，只是放了ASUS_UserFlashCopy.dll来破解，结果发现只省出了大约2MB。而且原来Omnitech能运行的TaskManager之类都运行不了。
原来玩Omnitech，不同之处只是没有调用ASUS_UserFlashCopy.dll，只占用不到6MB.
还发现有个莫名其妙的PocketStoreII,有2801kb（可能也是从内存中挪用的），但一直都是空的不知道有什么用。
如果只有大约23MB的空余内存，玩iGO很勉强。我用MioPocket缺省配置，根本进不了iGO。只能设置运行Navigation时关闭MioPocket.
你们的情况如何？

现在汇报一下实验结果。
我并没有刷新Firmware,下载了这个中文导航：

结果证实，中国显示和语音都完全没问题！

只是输入的方法我还不太懂，它缺省用快拼，就是输入拼音首字母，比如在深圳我打HG，本来是想找黄岗口岸，结果出来一大串的火锅店，没去查看其中是否有黄岗口岸。
补充：后来试输入HGKA，嘿，还真找到了一大堆和黄岗口岸相关的地点。
还可输入英文单词进行查询，点击“手写”按钮还可切换到手写模式。后两种输入方法还没试。
对了，这个软件还是TTS的。
看来这次回北京旅游它可以派上用场。

Same, 26.5MB free...but i have no problem running igo8 with TTS...when I run off route, it recalculate new route very quick...so far so great...;-)

Can someone please try planning a long trip within iGO8?

I got "Out of memory" message every time when it calculates a route from Calgary to Toronto. This is frustrating!

I don't understand why this GPS uses so much memory without running any big applications.

I used TaskManager to check all the running processes, they added up to only less than 5MB memory usages. So where are other 18MB gone?

For 64M RAM devices, sometimes you have to choose between TTS and features like 3D building, high resolution details and long trip planning. Without TTS I can simulate from Toronto to Los Angeles.

Yes I know iGO8 recommends 128MB RAM. But it was running flawless on my Omni-tech which has 64MB RAM too. After a startup, Omni-tech still has >40MB usused Ram while this ASUS R600 only has <24MB. The problem is that there are no processes showing in the Task Manager that take up so much memory. If they showed up in the task manager, then probably we can fix them by terminating some unneccessary processes. Now there's no way to get around it other than turning off some good features in iGO8.

I have posted before. It has nothing to do with MioPocket.

The problem is that there are no processes showing in the Task Manager that take up so much memory. If they showed up in the task manager, then probably we can fix them by terminating some unneccessary processes. Now there's no way to get around it other than turning off some good features in iGO8 and it's still can't guarantee not running into this issue.

I usually use Kikker skin. If I switched to the massive Dimka skin, I could sometimes get the OutOfMemory error by just clicking the Find button!

I don't want to turn off the good features of iGO8. Without TTS, 3D buildings those things, I can even run iGO8 on my old Mio C220, which only has 32MB RAM. Now the ASUS R600 only has about 3MB more free memory than C220. That doesn't make sense.
