(2 years): ATE Brake Fluid Typ 200 (Toronto distributor): $20 Motul Brake Bleeder: pump to 12psi

If it goes away when the ac is on, then it is probably a build up of moisture in the AC. It can smell like rotten milk very suddenly especially after an overnight sitting in hot weather. First thing to do is to make sure your AC condensate drain line is not clogged. The outlet is somewhere around the center of the undercarriage. Suck it out with a shop vac. Second, make up a bleach water mixture, or lysol/odoban/etc. in a spray bottle. Put your AC on with the fans on high and spray the mixture into the air inlet after the cabin micro filters. This will help to kill any mold or odor causing bacteria. Don't go overboard with the spraying, just enough to "knock down" the odor. Third, get into the habit of turning off the AC a mile or two from your stopping point and switch to fresh air. This will reduce the amount of condensation left in the system when you turn off the car. I did this last year and it worked great and the odor went away entirely. Good luck and maybe someone on here knows exactly where the drain location is. ------ It's mold growing in your AC evaporator inside the dash. Pop the hood, remove the two air ducts at the firewall, turn on blower fan, spray mixture of bleach/water or AC system cleaner liberally into both ducts. Let it sit a few minutes and repeat. If there is no progress then there is another more direct method. It involves drilling a hole inside the car and using a wand or garden sprayer to spray the evaporator directly. Then plug the hole with something. This worked for me. |
