Want to end rental lease early....

Hi, guys:
Due to uneexpected reason, I need to leave Canada next month. But I signed a one-year lease with landlord from Sept. 2005 till Aug. 2006.

Before the lease was signed, I asked a few times about ending lease before one year. The manager told me that I only need to inform to her two months ahead. I remembered she told me that I don't need care the rest. Under this condtion, I didn't check the lease very carefully: the lease is for one year.

Right now the landlord told me that I need responsible for the rest 4months rental after I told her that I will leave Canada at the end of next month. Can someone give me some suggestions about this? If I don't pay the rest 4 months rental and just leave Canada, will this cause problem when I come back to Canada one month later?
