Thanks for the shut. Harman kardon is gonna be AVR135 or some mid-range stuff. Just can't put my foot down on which speaker to go for, Polk, JBL...
Budget? 1000 or so.

你只要R50两个front吗? 如果你没有配两个rear和一个sub话,就不会有5.1的家庭影院效果.

我看你的选材似乎是向home theatre方向选的,否则不该选HK的AVR135,所以提醒你还要考虑两个rear和一个sub,再加上一些线材.但这样一来你的budget又不能满足了.所以,我觉得你的得调到1800左右, 性能价格比才能比较好.

1800的价位应该是main stream里的中档次. 家庭影院的功能大部分应该能满足.

R50:
Overall Frequency Response 40Hz - 24kHz,也还行, 但肯定要sub补充40Hz以下的声音,否则bass效果就要失去一部分.
Efficiency 90 dB 还行,是一个容易推的喇叭.

是一个将将满足条件的Home Theatre Receiver,
Six-Channel Surround Modes, Power per Individual Channel :
Front L & R Channels : 40 Watts per channel Center Channel :
Center Channel : 40 Watts
Surround Channels (L & R Side, Back) : 40 Watts per channel
这意思就是不能开太大的声音, 但是一般也足够了.

建议你看一下HK AVR135 网页, 你就会知道离你的需求有多大的差距了.

Thanks again. In fact, I am not really into the "home theatre" thing. It is nice to have the function though. My perferenc is to start with 2 good speakers and not bad receiver which not so sure stereo or AV, cause some fans said stereo receiver with AC-3 function would also be nice just for living room.

BTW, have you heard of (ONKYO ed-901B) Dolby AC-3 surround decoder?

You are welcome. You idea makes sense. You can definitely buy the audio component by steps. Yeah, 2 Front speakers and the receiver are definitely key component in your setup.

I know ONKYO, but I am not sure whether ONKYO ed-901B is ONKYO TX-NR901. TX-NR901 is the only 901 reciever I could find from official ONKYO homepage. I would say, for the spec. sake, ONKYO TX-NR901 is far better then AVR135, the price might be higher then HK AVR 135.

If I am right, ONKYO TX-NR901 might be for big store model, like Futureshop, BB, ONKYO ed-901B might be for local dealer like Sound Around, A&B Sound, or Hi-Fi in Downtown area.

I can garentee you that ONKYO TX-NR901 with AC 3 Dolby AC-3 surround decoder. Remember, Dolby AC-3 surround decoder is produced for Home Theatre System, other then stereo system. Dolby AC-3 surround decoder outputs at least 5 channels and 1 sub. Currently, most receiver for home theatre could handle stereo reproduction, but might not be superier then some special stereo manufactory. As to us, the regular customers, we don't need to worry about it. We can buy home theatre receiver anyway.

FYI, there are still some other receivers better or stay in the same level to ONKYO TX-NR901, like Yamaha, Marantz, HK.

Have you been Sound Arround? I see Polk Audio, Athena in Sound Arround NE 32nd ave store.
Have you been Hi-Fi in DT, I see Onkyo in Hi-Fi store 8 ST, one street across to Safeway. However, Hi-Fi is more like a stereo store other then a receiver store.

They almost made the deal with me, I changed my mind in last mins.
