团聚 终于收到使馆回复了，关于子女团聚的问题_Certified copies

经过漫长的等待和与北京使馆的反复联系，终于收到了孩子的档案号和补充材料通知。使馆已经给我们寄出2封信了，到现在仍然是一封都没有收到，档案号什么的还是电邮里面告诉我的。哪一个环节出了问题我们也搞不清楚，提供给他们的地址标签上中英文都有，平常也收到过很多信。不过使馆的邮件回复倒是还算及时，第一次5天，这次7天，而且把档案号和要求补的材料都告诉了我们。

要补的材料还真多，大概在子女团聚里面算罕见的了。除了孩子的出生证原件，护照，户口公证，还要担保人的护照公证和孩子与妈妈的在一起的照片。搞得跟夫妻团聚的要求差不多了，难不成还要提供我们与2岁儿子的msn纪录和来往书信？ ：（

这里请教一下各位大侠，"not'zd copy of sponsor's passport", 应该是担保人的护照公证。这个公证是要拿到中国使馆去做还是找一个律师去做就可以了？

Certified copies

The following people can certify your photocopies:
- professional accountant
- chiropractor
- commissioner of oaths
- dentist
- medical doctor
- professional engineer
- funeral director
- justice of the peace or judge
- lawyer
- manager of a financial institution
- member of a provincial legislature
- member of parliament
- municipal clerk
- notary
- official of a federal or provincial government department
- official of an embassy, consulate or high commission
- officially accredited to Canada and authorized to
- certify document issued by the official's government
- minister of religion
- pharmacist
- police officer
- postmaster
- social worker
- primary, secondary or university teacher
- veterinarian

This person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:
- "I certify that this is a true copy of the original document."
- the name of the original document
- the date of certification
- his or her name
- his or her official position or title
- his or her signature

The person who certifies your photocopies cannot be a family member.

I am wondering the difference of " notorized copy" and "certified copy". Will there be any difference?

BTW, I just called Toronto Chinese Consulate General. They can do the notorization of passport for $30. I may go there on friday.
