SIN card lost, how to find my number?

I 'm in China and I can't find SIN card, does anyone know how to get my SIN number? THANKS!!!

SIN卡丢了很麻烦的，我几个月前丢了钱包，所有证件都丢了，恰好SIN卡也在里面，我重新办卡时，其他的还好，在SIN卡相关网页上看到，要求丢失了去警察局办报失手续，以防以后有人冒用惹出麻烦时备查。所以平时应该将SIN卡放于安全地方，将号码记下。

but according to the government web site, you only need to mail permanent resident card or record of landing paper( original) to a designated place, then within three weeks you will get the replacement, is that correct?
