So, if you buy a 2010 new EX-L, the vehicle price (not including tax) after the $4000 rebate would be about $31000. Add GST and your provincial tax if applicable and minus any amount you negotiate down from the dealer, you get your price for a new EX-L. Personally, if you really like the EX-L, I'd suggest go for a new one. With that being said, you could consider a lot more options with a budged of around $32000. Good luck. |

First, you should check 2010, see how much you could get. I would expect something like $32000 after tax in Alberta. Since you are asking my opinion, I am not going to buy it for two reasons. First, 2009 models will have a smaller resale value than 2010 models. If it is put on the market in the next 4,5 years, you are expecting a difference of ~$3000. Resale values also affect insurance benefit if your car is totaled (hail damaged for example) down the road. Therefore I would choose the 2010 models. Second, the 2009 CR-V only has a horse power of 166, 14 lower than the 180 of 2010 models. Keep in mind that even 2010 models are not great at power. If you really like it and have a tight budget, try $28800, FIRMLY. 2011 models will come in soon, abd I dont think the dealer wants to keep their 2009 model. |

Hi moellersen, I did test drive the V4 and V6 versions of Rav4. The V4 is comparable to CR-V, but V6 is better in power. I recently bought a 180 horse power 2010 CR-V (V4) and it drives ok. I have not tried any Santa Fe, but I've heard a lot of good things about it: good quality, good fuel efficiency. If you want a car to drive for a long time and care less about resale value, it deserves some serious consideration. I am not sure about the price though. You could refer to http://carcostcanada.com to get a better idea. Anyway, you should do some test drive, feel the vehicle and see how do you like it or not. |

Hi, bigzozo I am glad to let you know that we finally bought Hyundai Santa Fe Sport AWD . We like it so much, comfortable and powerful! By the way, the warranry of the vehicle as you know is 5 years, do you think that it is necessary to do the rust protection, the dealer has offered $699 with life time warranty for top. Thanks! |

I did not do under-coating (dealer offered $300) on my 2010 CR-V for two reasons: for one I am in Alberta (where salt is not used on road), and for two, I may sell the car in 5 years. However, If you are in East Canada where salt is used in winter you may do the under-coating but I think the price is too much. You could negotiate with dealer to lower the price. Just for your price reference, you could get it done for around $200 in a shop other than the dealership. 此帖于 Oct 4th, 2010 01:07 被 bigzozo 编辑。 |

Specifically, 1. Space: leg room and head room are good, storage is ok, just enough for a stroller and grocery. 2. Fuel efficiency: it is ok for highway, I was getting something like 9.3L/100 km from Calgary to Banff. However, it is a bit high in city. Not enough data to be anything conclusive but it seems to be close to 11.7L/100km. It might be due to the fact that there are small hills everywhere in Calgary. 3. Power: Enough for me to drive on deer foot and trans-canada #1. I could easily get to the speed I prefer to merge into highway traffic. However, I did feel a bit under-power when it is uphill on highway. 4. Control: No complaints at all. 5. Safety: Like the fact that its safety test result is among the best in the category. Still worry about the possibility of roll over due to its higher center of gravity which is a common disadvantage for SUV's. Gotta stick to speed limit on highway ramps with sharp turns. 此帖于 Oct 6th, 2010 12:49 被 bigzozo 编辑。 |
