2. HIV treatment is completely free in Canada, including any medications. However, this is not the case for anything else. In Canada, all doctors visits and hospital treatment are free (if you have provincial health care coverage). However, one has to pay his/her own medications, ambulance, and other axillary services (such as Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Massage) unless one has a Blue Cross or other third party insurance. Blue Cross DOES screen people, e.g. if you have a pre-existing condition then you likely won't get covered for that condition-related treatment unless you are 65 or older. Most third party insurances are like Blue Cross unless you are enrolled with a group plan through your company. So, to answer your 2nd question without further info from you, medications are likely not covered but hospital treatment will be. And it should NOT be condition for employment in Canada Hope this helps. PS. Highly recommend to get a vaccination for Hepatitis B although not free in Alberta. |
