I have been using TD Gold Elite for years (annual fee waived by keeping 5k in select service account). I have been using their auto club once to boost...

checking account = no interest.
5k with 3.5% rate u get $175/year.

so keeping 5k in checking account = paying $175 fee

The drawback is that PC bank doesn't have tellers. The workaround is to keep a SAVING account open at another bank that has tellers, such as TD.

U can go to any cibc branch for pc banking teller, but I havnt find a chance to see them yet.

I am not saying 5k in checking account is any biggie, but there is really no point to keep 5k balance in a checking account all the time.
