mennonite在加拿大有很多, 经常能在mall和农贸市场中里见到. 他们一般在安大略和草原三省经营农场. 打扮朴实. 男的以黑色套装为主带黑帽子, 女的一般为蓝白格子的上衣, 裙子和头巾.

他们实现集体所有制, 生活中不使用任何现代电器制品.

有些mennonite团体甚至认为人不能照相, 以前他们的驾照上是没有照片的. 911之后加拿大强制要求驾照上必须有照片, 他们以宗教自由为由正在打官司, 目前案子在最高法院.

更重要的是他们(摩门教, 耶和华见证人, Mennonite )认为政府(国家)是魔鬼的代言人, 因而教义中有: 不从政, 不入伍等.

在美国,耶和华见证人的小孩因教义不向国旗敬礼, 被学校停课. 因此与美国政府对薄于公堂, 法院判决耶和华见证人胜.
