移民有没有父母移民申请递到底特律的？

我妈妈的移民申请今年七月中旬递到底特律了。想问问需要多长时间能拿到移民纸？多谢！

另外想问你, 是MISSISSAUGA 帮你转到那里的,还是他们给你的信中写的是北京VISA OFFICE,你自己决定递美国的?

1 month before the sponsorship application was processed in Mississauga, I faxed a letter to Mississauga office asking to transfer the immigration application to Bufallo visa office. (the reason is my mom has stayed in canada more than a year before the immigration application). Later the Bufallo office transferred her case to Detroit office.

So if you want to send your parents's case to USA, they have to stay in Canada for at least 1 year before the immigration application.

When the sponsorship was approved by Mississauga centre, the letter indicated that I can send the application to Buffalo visa office. I didn't wait for the application package from Mississauga. I downloaded the forms from CIC website specificially for the Buffalo visa office. Here is the link.

谢谢分享信息, 请问能够递交美国BUFFLO是资格担保前几年内住满一年呢？我家人是去年住了一年，但资格担保要明年可能才下来。
另外，你申请的是父母２人吗？如果我申请父母２人，但填的爸爸是主申请人，妈妈在这边住够一年，不知道可以帝BUFFLO吗？

请问你在资格担保批准前一个月写信给他们说父母在这边住够一年的情况时，需要提供什么证明吗，比如出入境复印件，还是他们能够查到这些信息呢？谢谢啊

I cannot remember them all. they asked for:

-copy of valid visa(s) - from the date of entering Canada
-your name, & client #;
- your parents name.
- indicate that you request to send the immigration application to Baffulo.

I sent a fax to Mississauga office.

I believe your parents should live in Canada for at least 1 year when the sponsorship is approved.

I think both of parents have to stay here, not only your mom.

Update: I received a letter from Detroit visa office yesterday asking me to provide my mom's passport to issue visa. Yahooooo! my mom will get landing paper in 2 weeks as the latest.

So if your parents can stay, that will be much faster than sending the case to Beijing or HK.

Hi, wondering how could you know your mom will get landing paper in 2 weeks? I mailed out my mom's passport to New York last week, there is no such kind of information in the letter says so though.

Detroit visa office sent a letter to us last Friday indicating that if the passport is submitted in person, it will be ready for pick-up in 10 business days. (I plan to submit in person) In an email from Detroit office, it mentioned that it would take a few days to get the visa if I mail in.

actually the visa office confirmed by email that if I submit the passport in person, I can get the passport with the visa back in the same day. So I will go to Detroit this week and get the visa done.

Medical examination was done on Sept 8. here are the key dates for my mom's application for your reference.

July 5 2009 - sponsorship approved by Mississauga office;
July 15 2009 - submitted immigration application to Buffalo office
July 29 2009 - confirmation letter from Buffalo office with medical examination form asking to book an appointment in 3 months (Oct 29)
Aug 11 2009 - Buffalo office notified me that my mom's application has been transferred to Detroit office
Aug 29 2009- Detroit visa asked my mom to have medical examination ASAP & pay the landing fee
Sept 8 2009 - medical examination
Oct 23 2009 - got a letter from Detroit visa office asking for passport for visa issuance

I will hand in the passport in person this week and I was told I can get the visa in the same day.

We are lucky. It is much faster than I thought. Hope the above info would be help for some people who submitted to Detroit office.

I don't have it handy. It is in the first confirmation letter from Missisauga office (page 2 I remember). Check that letter please. Also, you can find teh fax # from the sponsorship guideline (CIC website ). If you still cannot find it, please let me know. I have to check my record.
