With Toyota’s sales operations effectively on hold, General Motors is reaching out to those Toyota owners concerned about the Japanese automaker’s ongoing recall problems. Toyota was forced to halt sales of eight models following a recall announced last week.

General Motors says it is getting “barraged” by Toyota owners looking to jump ship after the most recent recall of 2.3 million vehicles, with the Detroit automaker much obliged to make that transition a little easier. “A lot of these customers were our customers, … and they’re looking for help and we want to provide help,” Steve Hill, GM general manager of retail sales support, told the Detroit Free Press.

In order to aid that transition, GM is offering an incentive program for “any Toyota owner”.

Per the terms of the program, current Toyota lease holders can get up to $1,000 to terminate their lease contract and get behind the wheel of any Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac or GMC vehicle. Toyota owners are also qualified for 0 percent financing for up to 60 months or $1,000 cash back.

The promotion is slated to run through the end of February. Of note, Toyota’s production shutdown is scheduled to run through at least February 5th.

其实你每天在这个世界上承受的风险，比这个油门事件大得多。
不要因为这个油门事件就对丰田彻底诋毁，其它车各种大小毛病多得去了，没忘了GM的车方向盘会自动锁死，高速熄火，刹车失灵，漏油引起自燃。
有些事你听到的和看到的都只是片面的，被人为夸大或掩盖的，背后有黑幕的。

But if you can avoid it, why not? And I don't think it is worth proving there is some little dirty secret behind this using one's own life possibly, right?

so far I know how to avoid this, put the transmission into neutral.

It really depends on your luck. Shifting to neutral can only reduce the possibility of being killed.

每个人都要为自己的多大的错误付出多大的代价，希望丰田能吸取教训，当然，GM也是。大多数的消费者不是傻瓜，好的就是好的，不好的就是不好的。

这样才是我们消费者希望的结果。

丰田把这个改了还是好车，不过最近还是不要买丰田。

自从荣登NO.1 宝座以后，分田就没过过一天好日子，先是V8引擎问题，包括TUNDRA，SEQUOIA在内几款车被CR贴上不推荐的标签，然后是金融危机，分田从一个高盈利企业直坠而下变成亏损，已经连续两年了；去年初开始掉入脚踏门的泥潭，如今越陷越深。今年看来是陷进去了。
