i went thru your web site, your rendering technique is good, but your English needs work, a few examples: 'your designs need places to express' should be 'your design needs a place to be expressed' 'rail station' should be 'railway station' 'museum hall' should be 'museum lobby' '--- apartment' should be '--- apartment building' 'mail centre' might be 'post office' a few suggestions that may help you: 1. get your partner prove read the web site, word by word, it's hardly understandable right now; 2. simplify your scope of services and focus on rendering; nobody in Toronto will ask you for design services with your experience; 3. an alternative to being a renderer (or illustrator) is, to apply for a draftperson's position in an architect's office, because you don't have any Canadian experience, you have to start from bottom and may have to stick to entry level for couple of years before you move higher. once you get started it may be easier than you think. and remember 'shortcuts' don't work here. architect is an old profession here and won't change for you, and you will change for it. i'd love to see more and more sucessful chinese architects in canada. |

[This message was edited by 水哥 on November 27, 2003 at 22:02.] |

I know a person, who has no background of construction at all. but through a friend, he got a drafting work, $25/h. so I think you guys can also try this way. but you must find out ways to know the companies and the boss to sell yourself because they may not put ads on web. And I know a person laying bricks, $30/h, he was a Canadian soldier before, and he told me he did not have experience before getting the job. And the work is not very complicated, you can imagine. So if you have construction background, try out! |

Of course construction labor market is better that other general labors. if you don't want labor jobs, I know some people went to George Brown College, they didn't study full time even, just took some key course, and found jobs after that. starting 40,000.

the max rage for a genaral labour work in construction rage is $27.45/h. steel man and carpenter rage is about 28/h, layout man is about $30.00/h and all plus 10% vacation pay, that's max union rage! A min union rage for a general labour is $16.64/h, it take you time to reach max! most of our chinese can't do the construction job, different muscle! you needn't very smart, but you definetely need power and energy! one of my friend quit a constrution job(16.64/h, kind of carpenter helper) and work in manufactory for $8.5/h. construction job looks easy, you need at least two years to become a not too bad carpenter helper, at least five years carpenter helper experience to become a carpenter(if you are smart!), steel man? you needn't a brain, but just think about the steel you structural engineer design for the building, can you carry it? maybe there are some easy construction labour job, but I havn't found it yet. |

quote:
quote:

http://bbs.hnol.net/uploadFace/12113...1352921936.gif http://bbs.hnol.net/uploadFace/92418...2394479687.gif http://img.mms.sohu.com/sys/1221/16753/16753.gif http://www.5fun.com/bbs/uploadFace/3...2511373848.gif http://www.socheap.com.cn/bbs/upload...5183530206.jpg http://bbs.hnol.net/uploadFace/10092...9362576738.gif
