Talking DIY ROTOR和PAD,上片片

下班后开始给我的CIVIC换ROTOR和BRAKE PAD,对我来说是最大的一次DIY 了

工具: 12mm, 17mm socket, 3/8 & 1/2 Ratchets, Philips screw driver, flat screw driver, impact gun, 锤子,小吸筒
Parts: Brembo rotor, Akebono ACT465A ProACT Ultra-Premium Ceramic brake pad, brake lure, brake cleaner, metal brush, torque wrench

步骤:
用JACK STAND把车架起来
用IMPACT DRIVER 把轮子拆下;
把方向盘往一边打,让BRAKE朝外,方便工作
用12mm socket 把CALIPER2个螺丝才拆下来;
把BLEEDER CAP拿下来,放好(我这次是顺便把破损的CAP换了)
把2个PIN拆下来用布擦干净,把CALIPER放好,用铁刷子清洁
把旧的BRAKE PAD 拿下来,其中一块BRAKE PAD 比较难拿下来,用FLAT SCREW DRIVER和锤子多次敲松才搞定
用17mm socket把CALIPER的支架部分拆下来,用铁刷子清洁
拆ROTER是最麻烦的一部分了,因为CIVIC有2颗螺丝固定了ROTOR,一般都锈死,网上大部分用IMPACT SCREW DRIVER但我没有,用锤子敲打N遍,加WD40,无效,用普通的CORDLESS DRIVER扭不动,突然想起我的IMPACT GUN带一个3KO的ADAPTER可以上PHILIP SCREW 的头,用它轻松搞定,当然前面的功夫应该也很有帮助
用BRAKE CLEANER 清洁HUB,擦干净
用BRAKE CLEANER 清洁新的ROTOR,擦干净,装上去
把CALIPER的支架放回去,把螺丝用手上紧,全部搞定后才用SOCKET上紧
把BRAKE PAD带的BRAKE GREASE涂在BRAKE PAD的背面,还有旧SHIM背面(从旧PAD上拆下来装到新PAD上),PAD的侧面(和SHIM接触那个突出的部分)
把新PAD装上去
把MASTER CYLINDAR的盖打开
用小螺丝刀把BRAKE LURE 填到BRAKE CYLINDAR和RUBBER的中间,最后把旧的/脏的LURE先挑出来,再加新的,做好润滑,后面就好做很多
用大豆C-CLAMP和旧的PAD把CYLINDA顶回去,要顶到尽头才行;如果外围的RUBBER把能压平,可能是由于上面那个LURE的步骤没有做好,也有可能是旧的BRAK PAD 比较小导致部分RUBBER没有给要回去;我要踩BRAKE把CYLINDA压出来一部分,LURE好,再要回去,结果还是有小部分RUBBER泡起来,后来得用小螺丝刀把那部分RUBBER小心压进去这部分要做好,否则装CYLINDA的时候突出的RUBBER有可能破损
检查MASTER CYLINDA的液面,把多余的BRAKE FLUID用小吸筒抽掉
把PIN用BRAKE LURE或者SILICON LURE润滑好, 主要2根PIN是不同的,有RUBBER那根一般在下面;装回去
把caliper装回去,小心PIN那个RUBBER BOOT和CYLINDA的RUBBER圈,慢慢装好,用手把12mm的螺丝上回去
把17mm和12mm的4个螺丝用SOCKET上紧;
把BLEEDER CAP装上
把轮子装回去,用TORQUE WRENCH上紧
在另外一边轮子重复上述步骤
慢踩刹车多次,直到感觉到刹车为止,小区试驾

目前做完一个轮子,另外一个明天做,估计会很快搞定。稍后上片片

鼓励DIY,活干的不错。好像ROTOR 还可以继续用啊。
其实PAD还有大概3.5mm, 也能撑一段时间,不过3mm的时候也推荐换了,1.9mm是底线,反正材料都有了就干吧

ROTOR应该还能用吧,但听老大们的推荐,还是一起换掉算了,当作练手

工作忙,DIY修车能减压啊

好,刹车每年应该清理检查,差不多就应该换掉。我几乎每两年换一次刹车,盘和片不用说,就是CALIPER换的我头痛,几乎每次都要换, GM的铝制CALIPER就是垃圾,我车已经换掉快有十个了。
多谢老大。我就是看到你的建议才把ROTOR也换了的。

GM的CALIPER都要这么频繁的话?那成本太高了吧

温度不是问题,GM铝制CALIPER带有VANE,而且铝本身散热就比铸铁好,其优点是不易SEIZE,但其弱点是容易渗漏,SEAL问题多多。MASTER CYLINDER HOUSING最好是铸铁的,比较贵的都是铸铁的,内壁不易产生“砂眼”。
请教一下老大,

BRAKE PAD后面和侧身,究竟用ANTI-SEIZE,还是BRAKE QUIET 好?我在CT买的那所谓的全合成的BRAKE LUBRICAN说 能用在这2个地方, 所有3个选择,糊涂了

另外,PIN用上述BRAKE LUBRICAN 没有问题吧?我看到一个YOUTUBE的VIDEO说用SILICOND 的LUBRICAN,名堂太多,搞糊涂

我上面用的是BRAKE PAD带的ANTI-SEIZE在PAD后面和侧身,用那个全合成的BRAKE LUBRICAN在PIN和其他螺丝的润滑上

PAD与PISTON不希望有太大的间隙活动余度,一般使用BRAKE QUIET,就是高温胶。PAD与BRACKET间不允许SEIZE一般使用ANTISEIZE,但是它是活动件,所以普通的ANTISEIZE是不理想的,应该使用一种象GREASE的黄色ANTISEIZE,能耐800度超高温度,现在的校车...
内侧的PAD就是SEIZED了, 花了点时间才搞下来,我当时怕我那个地方没有做对了,不敢硬来。

那么说我日后做BRAKE SERVICE的时候就应该买BRAKE QUIET(用在BRAKE PAD后面以及和PISTON接触的地方,和BRAKE的LUBRICAN(FOR PIN),但我买的这个BURICAN只支持到204度吧,虽然说是专门给刹车用的,也说上在BRAKE PAD的侧身,不过温度可能不够高,下次换一个高温点的

另外一个轮子没有想象中顺利,扭坏了一个ROTOR的小螺丝,后来还是拆下来了。

现在卡在PISTON的RUBBER老是泡起,好像里面有气,怎么也没有办法把PISTON外围那圈RUBBER塞好,怎么办?不管的话,装上CALIPBER的时候估计有机会搞坏那个RUBBER圈

后来还是没有办法搞定,感觉是那个橡胶圈的外圈已经松了,只能小心的放回去,希望不会有问题吧。

今天犯的错误比较多

1.拆ROTOR的时候,随便用锤子敲了几下就用IMPACT GUN卸螺丝,结果螺丝滑了,费了不少功夫才把那个螺丝硬拆下来。还是得靠不断的敲打和WD40先攻才行

2. 上CALIPER SCREW的时候(上到PIN上那2颗),上得太紧了,断了一根,还好能拆下来,马上跑去附近的HONDA,$10+TAX, 结果想要都没有货,定的话也得到周一;跑去PARTSOURCE,只有成套卖的,也只有那么最后一套,2个PIN加2个螺丝,$15左右,好过得周1,马上要了。

后来查了手册,那个螺丝才需要16lb/ft的扭力,而CALIPER支架那个17mm的就需要80lb/ft的扭力,我估计我都上得过太紧了 不过那个80lb/ft的应该还好,拆得时候得很大劲才行


刚刚试开了一下,没有问题,好像有很轻微的摩擦声音,不知道是那些GREASE不够还是新的ROTOR和PAD磨合的声音。。。反正刹车是好多了

搞车子最怕的就是螺丝出问题。一个锈死、一个螺丝头滑了,还有一个就是螺丝断了。你是三个都遇上了,好运啊。再有一个啊,求快,安装的时候损坏螺纹,差不多就歇菜了。
其实,你说的最后一个情况也遇到了

不过不是求快,是我用锤子敲ROTOR螺丝的时候,打中了其中一根固定RIM的大螺旋,装RIM的时候螺帽上不去,拆发现最外围的那圈螺纹给我敲扁了一点。好在是外圈,在中间就麻烦大了。用小的平头螺丝刀和锤子把变形的那小部分螺纹给凿了下来,就搞定了

有人专门掏螺丝的,就等着你拧断呢。
其实不是断开,就是听到啪的一声,我暗叫惨了
慢慢把螺丝拧出来,发现螺丝中间位置的变细小了,螺纹拉长了,就是把胖子拉长那种样子

好奇这螺丝不完全断是材料问题?我印象中普通螺丝是断开的,不是拉长的。是否汽车用的螺丝和普通的有区别?我后来买的那套螺丝感觉就质量差很多,我都没有敢多用力

刚才把我的车刹车片全部拆下来查看了一下,发现靠近活塞的那一片磨损都比外面被动加压的那一片磨损地厉害。装回去的时候,把厚薄两片交换了一下位置,这样刹车片又可以多开一阵了。

我开车刹车比较节省,基本上能不使用刹车就不使用刹车。比如早晨车少的时候,dvp往南下高速到downtown richmond...
我也是差不多是那样开的 不过我的车买回来的时候是近67000 KM了,我自己现在开了近7000KM,所以旧BRAKE PAD/ROTOR是原车主开得不错

突然想到一个问题, 为什么2对旧PAD,都是靠里面那块卡在SHIM上面动不了?

另外,刹车的时候,PISTON要住PAD,摩擦ROTOR来刹车;那么松刹车后,PISTON不压住PAD了,但PAD还是和ROTOR有接触吧?我又没有看到什么部件会把PAD和ROTOR的距离拉开

不刹车的时候只是刹车片和刹车盘之间的巨大压力消失了,所以即使还剩一点摩擦力存在,和巨大的车身重量和惯性相比可以忽略不计了。

如果拉开距离的话,那会消耗刹车踏板几乎一半的行程(自己估计的),到时候需要刹车的时候会吓你一跳!怎么踩刹车半天才起作用。

我猜也就是那样了,只要PISTON不一直压PAD就是了

刚刚看着DIY的论坛,看到一个ROTOR的图我突然想起我新的ROTOR没有上任何ANTI-SEIZE的东西,我记得是要上ANTI-SEIZE还是上什么的,否则时间长了铝合金RIM和铁ROTOR会分不开了。

哪里能说说正确做法是上啥?我记得是ANTI-SEIZE但不确定,明天去CT买

估计得搞些高温的GREASE或者ANTI-SEIZE吧,刹车后DISC可是很热的
