This is a dual voltage device when the appliance uses both 125 volt for the controls and drum motor and 250 volt for the electric heating element. 2 hp rating. Solution : you need to change your receptacle and bring extra ground wire from your electric panel to the receptacle. It is a safety feature. Check your new appliance rating. Make sure your old wires have enough Amp. rating. The unsafe way is to change your plug and disconnect your ground wire of the appliance. Call the manufacture what they recommend.[ Call the city if you can do it yourself by bring ground wire and change the receptacle and have city electrical inspector come over and check. If not, then hire the electrician to do it.] |
