轮胎的尺寸?
我的manual上写应该用195/65 R14 88S的胎。但我车上的轮胎是四个185/70 R14。 这是怎么回事?如果我换两个胎,还应该用回185/70吗?还是195/65? 谢谢! |

P195/65R15 89H P - means Passenger car 195 - means Tire width in millimeters 65 - Aspect ratio. The tire's section height as a percentage of its width. R - Tire construction code 15 - Rim diameter in inches. 89 - Load index, a numerical code associated with the maximum load the tire can carry. H - speed symbol. Max Speed Q 160 KM/H S 180 KM/H T 190 KM/H H 210 KM/H V 240 KM/H W 270 KM/H Apparently, follow the sequence, the tire with W for sure better than Q, and I found in CT the price also follow same trends. I personally believe for general purpose up to S, T should be good enough. (will you drive above 180 KM/H) |

self up
1. p185/70R14 2. P195/65R14 See, if I make following calculation: 1. 185 mm (width P185 ) * 0.70 (Ratio 70) = 129.5 mm 2. 195 mm (width P195 ) * 0.65 (Ratio 65) = 126.75 mm they almost equal (2.75MM diference, which is almost nothing) , means both model tire's have similar "section height" (The distance between the surface of tire to the rim), the only problem is their width. And usually the width should match your RIM, otherwise will cause problem (Tire wear faster, poor traction with the ground, less fuel economic, etc) 195 is 10 mm (1cm) wider than 185. Better use same model on all four wheels. But I don't know why 185 should cheaper than 195 tires as addressed above, usually the higher price can give you a hint relate to quality. I knew W (Max 270KM/H) type tire is much more expensive than S (Max 180KM/H) type. Also famous brands usually equal to famous price. If you change all of them (4), confirm with your manual or dealer to try to use the exact model defined there. Sorry, I never tried to use a different modle on my car, so I don't know what will be the implications if use a slightly different type. |

Suggestions;
I would recommend: If you change two of your 4 wheels, change either front or rear pair. ensure your tires are Left-Right symmetric. Because generally speaking, the wider tire the better traction against the ground but less fuel efficiency. Please ask other professionals like Wuyong or YouMei to get their expertise on this, I have no idea how serious the potential risk could be if you using slightly different tires on your front and rear wheels. |

Thanks a lot! samqyang. So 195 is better than 185. Let's say if I want to chang two front tires. If it's OK if I use two new 195 in the front and two old 185 in the rear? Hope Wuyong or YouMei can see this posting and give me some hints. |
