探亲在香港拿的探亲签证不能从北京走？

If it is your first time to go abroad with your passport, you have to leave from the place you got your visa. But, if you have used your passport for more than one time, you can leave everywhere.

Canadian officer cannot understand this too. Maybe chinese officers don't consider Hong Kong as a part of China.

They can go to Vietnam for a short visit. I went to Russia in 2003 for the same reason.

But for your case, I don't think they have any excuse to stop your parents.

I have told you. If it is the first time, you will have trouble. You need to active your passport. If it is not the first time to use your passport, you can go everywhere.

This is the case I met when I came here in 2003. I think your parents can come cause they used their passports. I went to Russia before I came here, so the officers in Beijing Airport let me go.

You can call 北京出入境边防检查总站 or visit http://www.bjbj.gov.cn/ for more information. However, trust me, if you ask two persons there, maybe their answers are totally different.

Anyway, your parents are lucky they have used their passports. So don't worry.

昨晚打电话给北京出入境边防检查总站，得到如下信息：

除了移民签证外，其他的签证如果是第一次（针对所持护照而言），必须从驻中国大陆的大使馆获得，否则不得出境。如果不是第一次，则没有这个限制。

举例来说，如果某人持一本从来没有用过的护照在香港获得探亲签证，那么不论他从香港走还是从北京走都是走不了的，但如果他的探亲签证是在北京或者上海或者武汉拿的，那么他从哪里出关都没有问题。

另外一个例子，如果某人曾经用一本护照去过泰国，然后他现在用这本护照在香港获得探亲签证，那么他同样从哪里出关都没有问题。

我父母计划4月17号，北京出发，如果可能，一起搭个伴，已经有两对老人了，组个团，机票能便宜点。不过你父母是不是要从香港走呀？

If you want them come about April 17, we can make a group. They can take care with each other and maybe get a good ticket price.

if u have a valid visa and the airticket departing from HK to the destination, u can transit from HK and stay there for 7 days maximum. No need HK&Macao pass.

That means you can enter Hong Kong, but how can you leave China? Don't forget there are two systems.
