CB&I Lummus has job opportunities for a Senior Piping Design Engineer, based at its headquarters in The Hague, The Netherlands. Main Responsibilities and Duties: - Must be capable of executing small projects (or partly complete larger projects) within the established man-hour budget and schedule. In that capacity, supervises and coordinates all piping design and drafting activities, including piping material take-off and plotplan development. - Must be capable of supervising and coaching employees working for him/her, and to give them the necessary guidance and instructions, promoting an efficient and safe design. - Is responsible that employees working on the project adhere to the same information, procedures, standards, job instructions, specifications, etc. - Must be able to solve technical and project execution problems independently (in consultation with other disciplines as required). - Is responsible for planning, scheduling, prioritizing, coordination, communication, work assignments, administration and the technical quality of the work executed. - Is responsible that information is distributed to other disciplines on time, and all required deliverables and related piping materials are issued on time. - Must be able to execute Peer reviews and Technical reviews when requested by the department. - Must be able to set and discuss individual schedules (isometrics, piping studies, etc.) with all team members, and guide them to achieve these schedules. - Must be able and willing to adjust priorities if needed in support of Project interests. - Must instruct and encourage his team to execute sound material management throughout the project. - Is responsible for correct reporting of status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, close-out, etc. - Must participate in Project meetings, Business Team meetings, etc. - Must be able to work Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) focused. - Must be prepared to make appraisals for team members under his/her supervision, incl. free-lancers when requested. - Is responsible to become fully knowledgeable of the current work processes and tools, and to provide input or take initiatives to improve these. - When required, must take on assignments which fall under the aforementioned tasks, or as a resident engineer in support of multi-office project execution. - Shows flexibility and ensures proper hand-over with regards to: • The reassignment to other projects. • The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays. • The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workload (also other projects) when possible/desirable. Required Education and Experience: - You have at least 15 years experience in petrochemical industry of which you have acted in a Lead engineer capacity for several years (proven managerial skills). - You have at least 3 to 5 years experience working on projects in the U.S. and/or Europe. You should be very comfortable leading a team of international engineers. - You should have strong communication skills, both in terms of interacting with clients as well as leading/coaching your team. Your English is fluent. - You have obtained at least a Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline. - You can provide a letter of reference testifying to your performance from a past or current employer.
