Senior Project Accountant

Position Description

• Lead role in preparation of bi-weekly or monthly invoicing on assigned projects
• Monitoring projects for contract compliance
• Analyze monthly unbilled (WIP) results
• Preparation of monthly project financial reports for management review
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliation’s and analysis, including: cash, unbilled (WIP), deferred revenue and retention accounts
• Liaise with project managers, project controls and accounting management
• Project setup and closeout
• Audit support, when required
• Special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Competencies required:

• Enrollment in a recognized accounting designation, close to completion, or completed
• Accounting experience, preferable in a project accounting environment
• Experience with Oracle 11i
• Advanced Excel
• Strong analytical abilities.
• High productivity; ability to meet tight deadlines; overtime may be required
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Strong written and verbal skills required
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Multi-task oriented with ability to prioritize tasks accordingly with an ability to see the "big picture".
