我的PR卡寄来的时候有1张纸说明关于PR卡如何有效，楼主说的两招都认可。原文如下：
To maintain your permanent resident status, you must comply with the provision of the IMMIGRATION AND REFUGEE PROTECTION ACT AND any conditions imposed under the regulations. Section 28 of the Act requires that permanent residents be physically present in Canda for a minimum of 730days in every 5-year period. You may also satisfy your residency obligation, as specified in the regulations, if you are:
a) living outside Canada while working for a Canadian business or the public service of Canada or a province, or
b) living outside Canada accompanying a canadian citizen, or
c) living outside Canada accompanying a permanent resident employed by a canadian business or in the public service of Canada or a province.

if your card is stolen or lost outside of canada, report it to the closet Citizenship and Immigration mission who will be pleased to help you.
