Tongxian He killed and Three Others Injured in Garfield County Vehicle Crash on Highway 89 Tongxian He Fatal Crash on Highway 89 near Hatch in Garfield County Garfield County, Utah (January 6, 2019) – A 72-year-old man was killed in an accident involving two-vehicle collision on Wednesday evening in Garfield County, according to Utah Highway Patrol. The collision took place at about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2018, on U.S. Highway 89 near Hatch. Police said the accident occurred when a Nissan Maxima, driven by Xiaoyi Chen 27, was turning around the U.S. Highway 89 near Hatch when a white Nissan Pathfinder struck it. Tongxian He, 72, who was a passenger in the Maxima, was declared dead at the scene. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Two other occupants in the Maxima were taken to Garfield Memorial Hospital in Panguitch and later to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George. The driver of the Pathfinder, Lan Chan, 34, and his passengers 38-year-old Yang Yurong and a 3-year-old child, all from Fayetteville, Arkansas sustained minor injuries.
