Do not marry any stock. Stock market is only one of invest vehicle. Ticker is only the tool for your to make money.

You may work for certain industry and you think you understand this sector? You may or may not know the whole market. Do not focus only 1 sector. You can check sector performance and trade the strong sector:

好帖，但想很系統的講怎麼來買賣股票是不是很難？也就是講一個大概齊。具體到講一個股票就更難了，除非有人能提出很具體的疑問來，可誰會提出很恰當的問題哪？

對於很看好的股票，俺從來是重手的出擊。

這裡要注意所謂的很看好是指經過很確定的技術分析，而不是道聽途說而來。還有需要很耐心，因為有時一個好股票需要等很長時間，幾個月幾年都不是問題，期間可以隨便搞搞其它的MM玩一玩，但一旦時機成熟，一定要大膽介入，有時時機稍縱即逝。

As a trader, you really should know some common stocks pattern since most traders trade patterns.

Remember basic concepts:
For bullish trend, you see higher high and higher low. And bearish trend, you see lower high and lower low.

Since HUN.TO is so hot in this forum, I take it as a example:
First you look at overall trend -200 MACD trending down, it is bearish trend.
From May to July, price went up and down couple times. This is quite confusing and some traders may thought it may bottom out.
I tell you this is called Pennant Pattern or Descending Triangle Pattern. What you do is waiting the confirmation. In begging of July, it broke out the previous support and you knew what happen after.
That is the power of pattern.

Again, trade the trend.

As a trader, you should know some key dates when government or organization release their reports, or the day FED has meeting. Sometimes certain market may get big hit by those news. Here is some links:

This is copied from another post for STOP LOSS setup by ATR:

About STOP LOSS setup:

There is another way to set it.

Use this indicator: ATR

Exaple: you may use 1.5xATR for your stop loss setup.
Saying stock price is 10, ATR=0.5.
1.5X0.5=0.75
You stop loss setup is 10-0.75=9.25.
You may try this factor (1.5-2.0) for different ticker to see which figure work better for you.

Again, PAPER TRADE, PAPER TRADE...
