想问问版里在bcit上学的朋友。

你们当初申请的时候，是用的toefl成绩吗？有人参加过它的communate 0015的考试吗？难度如何？

They won't let you pass no matter how good your English is. They will send you to pre-entry english courses. and those courses are hard to pass too. BCIT makes money from these english courses.
Or there is another way. Take high school grade 12 english course.no need the provincial exam (if BCIT policy has not been changed). easier than 0015 and toelf.

DXs, I still feel confusion and would you pls help to clarify below quiz:
1. Where can I take high school grade 12 english course? In BCIT or somewhere else?
2. Does the ESL course meet the criteria of BCIT entrance? Or is the ESL equivalent to BCIT pre-entry couses?

1.the grade 12 english, you can take it in the adult high school. There will be a test to you, and you can start the english 9 or english 10 by your scores.
2.BCIT told me that I can take the VCC's ELS test too. So, I think if I choose study the ESL, I should pass the ESL's high level too.

读GRADE12不一定要从9或10开始，程度好的话会让你直接上12级的。VCC的考试同样很难通过。这里的考试都是偏重写作，这正是我们的弱项。所以通过率很低。读12年级，是相对容易的选择，因为不是一篇文章定高低。但是单词量很大，莎士比亚读起来比较难。

English 12 (C+) or equivalent 相当于TOEFL220，TWE 4。5吧？grade 12 english course比着个还简单？是不是因为不用考试？

For me, TWE4.5 is hard to get. I wrote TOEFL 3 times because of TWE. Grade12 has exams. but no need to write provincial exam.

Sorry for misleading.
What I mean is by which way you decide to enter BCIT. ESL, high school course, pre-entry course or even toefl?
Anyway I'll choose electronics.

I prefer ESL. That's what I am doing now. English 12 is much easier than TOFEL and BCIT COMM 0005.
Even for ESL, you can choose Burnaby school board or Vancouver board. Any high school is good enough. Don't go to VCC.

oh, i got it. i am prepareing the toefl now. and i take the english 10 of VSB, but I think it is useful for improving my english.

txchip: why do not choose the VCC's esl? A lot of friends said it is good. the esl you said is the one of the VSB?

考不考toefl还要看所报专业对英语的要求。有些专业不仅要托福成绩，还要TSE成绩，这对中国人来讲较难。我托福考了253分，高于所要求的分数，但还是被拒了。不得不参加它的COMM0015考试。个人感觉COMM0015比托福简单，不考听力，语法也很简单，但阅读量很大，不易答完。分数给压得很低。考完后估计成绩应不低于80分，但只给了个及格。BCIT的主要目的实际上是从英语考试及培训中挣钱。

1. Why can I only find up to Lvl8+ ESL courses on VSB's website? There isn't any grade12 english courses like published on burnaby board web.
2. Agree to rhyy, I've also been told that VCC's ESL is better than the others. What's wrong with it?

我参加了VSB的ESL "Level 8 & 8+",老师名字叫 Ron. 简直太差劲了！经常给大家一个题目，自由讨论30分钟，他就去打电话，甚至用一只手堵住耳朵。或者嘲笑同学的发音等等恶劣罪行。。。没有师德。据一位朋友说Langara某位老师也很讨厌与学生交流。
希望上ESL课程的同学谨慎选择。
