For decades, thousands of successful traders have been using Chart Patterns and Trend Lines to make high probability and profitable trades. Most do it by recognizing particular patterns in price charts manually by visual analysis, making it very much of an art. The more experience you have, the better you will be able to recognize correct patterns therefore make profitable trades. However, even for a very seasoned trader, it consumed a lot of time, if not impossible to read thousands of charts in regular basis if he were to cover all the stocks and find best possible trading candidates. Unlike indicators and oscillators such as RSI or MACD, there is no simple mathematical formula for recognizing Chart Patterns or drawing Trend Lines. It requires human eyes to detect geometric patterns in the infinitely variable shapes of charts.
