Is license plate still valid?
I was intercepted by a cop this morning on Donmills Road. He told me I had two offences. 1. drive a motor without a valid permit. 2. my insurance was expired. For 1, "June 2010" is printed on the small permit stuck on the license plate. However, today is June 25. Why this guy give me a ticket??? For 2, I just renewed my insurance policy and forgot to bring the new one with me. The cop told me to do emission test today and then bring the ticket to court to show them that I already fix it. He issued a yellow "Offence Notice" and TWO white "Payment Notice". One of the two white notices has the same number with the yellow notice. It is weird that why he gave me another payment notice without the corresponding offence notice. ??? Did he just forget to issue the "$5000" ticket or he just called the insurance company to confirm that I do have an effetive insurance. Do anyone know about this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot! (Sorry for the English message. I will text Chinese when I am home.) |

For 2: Your car made year should be odd year, like 2009,2007... So you need pass the emission test then renew your license plate this year. Usually, the ministry had sent you a letter already before June. Did you read it ? |
