读大学问题

若国内读高二，今年移民过来，是直接读高三吗？英语考托福就可以直接读大学吗？若想去美国读大学有什么具体要求吗？谢谢

A child finishing grade 11 in China can usually go to grade 12 automatically here, but it's very unlikely that they'd be allowed to
(maybe called different things in different provinces) that is a must to graduate high school. Most universities require at least four
consecutive years of education in Canada or an English-speaking country prior to entering univeristy. Otherwise, you'll have to take TOEFL
(even you pass English 30). But if you pass TOEFL without a passing grade for English 30, universities still wouldn't consider you because
without an English 30 mark, you won't be allowed to graduate high school. If you're attending a university in the States, you'll have to take
SAT on top of everything else and pay a differential fee because you're considered a "international student". The best way is to let your child
finish high school in China. That'll give him/her a high school diploma. All s/he needs to do afterwards is to pass TOEFL. Hope that answers
