似乎是个好消息，不知道能否不用他们的长途，而只用他们的Local phone 和High speed internet .
CIA Local Phone Service with FREE High Speed (7M) for only $39.95/month, 实在太便宜了，简直不可相信！

我现在用的 (1) Shaw Basic Cable & High-Speed Lite Internet - $42.95/month
(2)Telus Local Telephone $26.12/month
合计42.95+26.12=$69.07/m

如果改成CIA的Local Phone+7m Hi-Internet - $39.95/m
保留Shaw Basic Cable 多少钱( $25/m )?
合计39.95+25=$65/m

提升了: Internet Lite -> Hi speed 7m
Basic Tele -> Digital(效果?) + Call Return + Caller ID with Name

结论:还是满划算的.

我觉得这个计划对新来的还没有入Telus或Shaw cable 的，特别值得一试！然后把试过后的效果，在这里向大家公布。这样就会打破TELUS对Local phone 的垄断局面，也会打破TELUS 和 Shaw Cable 对Internet 的垄断，整体价格必然会下降，大家才能从中受益！

不需要更改电话号码！察看WEBSITE,上面说的很清楚！当然，你也可以选新电话号码。

是不是local phone service 是internet phone,网页上有提起CIA Local uses a digital technology called VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol,还有911 calling on CIA local phone services has some limitations。

限制是：Does CIA Local Phone provide access to Enhanced 9-1-1 Services?

Yes, CIA offers access to emergency services through 9-1-1 calling. We provide E9-1-1 access with automatic call back number and location information to the same emergency call centers you would access today using your traditional phone service. A 9-1-1 operator will receive your phone number and location information automatically. But there are some additional things you need to know that are described below:.

Will 9-1-1 calling work during a power or broadband Internet outage?

CIA Local Phone service may not be available during a power outage and will not be available during a broadband Internet service outage. In order to reduce the chance that 9-1-1 calling will be unavailable during a power outage you must ensure that all of the equipment used to provide your CIA Local Phone Service is connected to your electrical outlet through an uninterruptible power supply (“UPS”). The UPS is designed to keep your CIA Local Phone service running up to several hours or until your power returns. The rechargeable battery inside the UPS should be replaced with a new one at least once a year so that the UPS can maintain a maximum charge in the event of a power outage.

It is a VoIP phone for sure. But it has a local phone number and it has gateway connected with local telephone network.

有一点，我想到的不知道对不对.

对于使用“直接拨”打中国长途的用户可能不是好消息，可能根本就不能使用了。
对于“间接拨”的用户，理论上应该还是可以用，座机--(VoIP)->Local Call--(VoIP)-->China,但是关键的是两次编解码，声音效果不知道如何。
同样对于使用电话卡的用户，也存在这个问题。

我一直不知道的是，“直接拨”“间接拨”打north America的价格是多少，和他的0.03比如和？

我认为，其实对于有自己business或者有两部电话的人倒是一个好消息。
