For those of you who won't want to spend almost $100 on a GPS device, here's a free app for you to download onto your iPhone. The app is called Navfree USA and it's free to download from the App store in iTunes. It works even if you don't have a data plan on your device. The download size of this app is 1.76GB, and is compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad with iOS 4.0 or later.

Features of this GPS app include turn-by-turn directions, voice guidance, and auto-rerouting. Keep in mind that it includes US maps and only some partial Canadian maps within its internal database. Also keep in mind that this GPS app is free!

在美国用了下，输入目的地不方便，持续使用比较费电，一旦输入后用recent destination还是挺方便的。和专业gps比，功能很简陋，毕竟是免费的。
用iphone gps的最大好处是因为assist gps,搜星速度大大超过专业gps

我建议购买 ipad 的 Navigon Maps,　或者 CoPilot, ($40-$60). 非常漂亮,　功能齐全,　地图精确,　依赖 iPad 的屏幕框上的大天线,　1GHz CPU,　和 9.7" IPS 液晶屏,　用起来胜过市场卖的任何一款纯 GPS.

这个我没试过，我只是给国内的朋友手机短信，非常方便快捷。

这个地图有gta的，也可以route，但好像没法输入加拿大地址，只能用搜索功能输入（用data/wifi)

navfree canada map is out and free. the new US version of navfree doesn't include GTA anymore.
