Yeah!!!!! Timing belt again!!!!!!!!! I just came back from my work, I got a 93 Accord for no start this night. the guy towed the car in. I had it inspected and found timing belt was broken. The vehicle is 195K, woth no record for reaplcing timing belt. when I took out timing belt cover, I found belt cracked all around. Besides, belt will become more harder and brittle when temperature is very low. it won't hold tension anymore!!! it's not the only one I saw today with same problem. I think it's a good idea that if you have high mileage vehicle with timing belt which has not been replaced for while, please start you vehicle carefully. or you can use block heater to keey your vehicle warm. If you get chance, have your timing belt inspected!!!! |

Hi fat chicken, is "system too thin" a serious problem? I had this problem for long time, the service engine soon light is on, but I dont really want to fix it now, can i just drive it without repair it? Thanks! |

Computer will know the A/F( Air fuel ratio) from O2 sensor. If o2 sensor reading is low voltage, it means A/f ratio is lean. lean means too much air in the mixture. Actually, engine is running very well when a/f ratio is slighter lean. it will produce more power and has good fuel efficiency. We have a strict emission bylaw in North America to control vehicle emission. engine with leaner a/f will produce more NOx which most likely contributes to smog. So modern engine design will let engine run at slight richer to minimize Nox content in exhaust. It means that is compromise between emission and fuel efficiency. Your vehicle will be safe to drive but no good for engine original design purpose because it's running hotter than normal. How to fix it: 1. check fuel pressure at normal idle and high idle. If fuel pressure won't increase at high idle, replace fuel pressure regulator because there would be no enough fuel being injected into cylinders and it will cause lean a/f ratio. 2. If fuel pressure is good, try to replace the pre-o2 sensor. also, if you have no idea about some terminologies, please read "有关汽车氧气传感器的探讨" or " 为大家解答汽车各种故障等问题", or ask me directly. you will know how does engine PCM exactly control A/F ratio. |

ThANK YOU !FAT CHICKEN can you tell me how to check the fuel pressure? Thanks! my problem is the "service engine" light turned on ocasionally, and sometimes it turned off automatically, so I think it should not a very serious problem. as long as I can drive it safely, I am not in a rush to fix it, I think so! Any way, thank you again. you are really a warmhearted person. |

The only way you can do is to use a gauge, hook it up on fuel pressure test port. You might have to buy a expensive gauge which is not worthy for you. |

I've never seen that oth two pre o2 sensors fail at same time!!!!!. Since you got same problem just after replacement, you should get refund from dealer or you just ask them why they did not tell me the post o2 sensor failed again. I guess they got codes but they ere not sure what the exactly problem it was. they just want to get your authorization and try it. |
